I Used To Despise Summertime... SERIOUSLY?
I never came fine with the heat. I was born and lived the biggest part of my life in Greece which is... a considerably warm country! However, trying to be as active and productive as I usually like to be in a country that boils pretty much for the largest part of the year was never easy for me, it would bring down my motivation and productivity levels a lot. All you want to do when it is so warm is lying in bed with an air-conditioner, watching Netflix and eating ice-cubes all day. Yeah not very realistic when you have to be running around Athens for seminars and workshops, concerts and rehearsals, college classes etc. Oh did I mention photoshootings and video shootings where you and your make up melt in the heat?'
Before you accuse me of complaining too much let me set something straight: back when I used to live in Athens I was nowhere near the level of understanding and respecting myself and my needs as I am nowadays. This means that I would make my life a bit difficult with no reason to be honest. As a perfectionist who wanted to always stick to the plan, I prefered to do a photoshooting on a day the temperature was 43 degrees instead of putting it off for another day where the temperatures would be down to 35 degrees for example. ''NOPE there is a schedule and I have to stick to it''. So of course I did not relate the summer heat with easy living and excuses for chilling like other people who would have made sure to be at a relaxing place/state when the heat arrived. Nope, I was running around going all business during winter AND summer. This girl simply had too much on her plate and Summer had to be all work. Well... on the other hand my discipline has brought me tons of blessings so I guess we're equal BUT I have indeed learned by now to balance my work and relaxation time much better than back then.
