_Here's a small personal report as about SEDUCE THE HEAVEN entering the studio.
It’s been 7 months since we started recording the very first demo versions of the songs that would be included in the debut album of SEDUCE THE HEAVEN.
And here we are now, kicking off the beginning of the official, final studio recording process.
Well, yesterday (Friday 16 July 2010), the first vocal studio session for SEDUCE THE HEAVEN took place at SOUNDFLAKES STUDIOS in the city of Helioupolis, Greece.
The first track we recorded was a song very close to my personal experiences, unfortunately I am not going to reveal any titles before the album is out, I’m keeping it as a surprise! :-)
It was a kind of hectic day, however we finished on time.
I started recording at about 17:30 in the afternoon and then at about 19:30, Vangelis followed with the growls of the song. I was really nervous at the beginning as this was my first day at the studio but I managed to relax myself and everything went quite cool.
Vangelis was very very good, I caught myself standing there hypnotized by his vocal strength. His growls are deep enough to sound just the way they should be sounding.
However, this day I also met another idol of mine at the studio: George Ikosipentakis, vocalist of the greek prog metal band Fragile Vastness had come to help us with the backing vocals!
That was really awesome !! Not only did he provide us his beautiful voice but also his cool company.
To sign off, I am quite satisfied with the result but most of all I am really happy and excited about the fact that I am taking this musical journey along with such great guys.
All of my band-mates are really great musicians and really awesome people.
Alex Flouros (Fragile Vastness) is such a great guitarist, composer and arranger. He is also a real magician in organizing the whole thing. He managed to gather up the best guys to do this work. Vangelis Kollios is great as I mentioned before (see also works of his with Audioblast & God.Fear.None). Drums are going to be recorded by Stergios Kourou, a mastermind on his object (see also Wardrum) and off course talented Chris Kollias is going to go by b(A)ss for us :-)
And how could I ever forget to mention Nikos Papadopoulos, our recording assistant at SOUNDFLAKES STUDIOS. The guy ROCKS !! :-)
Well, I can't wait for the rest of the recording sessions to come !! :-)
